About Lisamae
As a student and home-school learning coach to my own daughter who is in middle-school, I am very familiar with the challenges students can face with learning, especially in the online learning environment. I enjoy helping students master concpets through strong practice and cognitive learning strategies. I am flexible, adaptable, and personalize my tutoring to the student's need and comfort level.

I adapt my teaching methods to the particular needs, learning preferences, and objectives of each student. I tailor lessons and methods to meet students' knowledge and learning rate.
Active learning techniques are a key aspect of my tutoring, I employ problem-solving activities and cognitive studying strategies that encourage knowledge retention.
I place focus on enhancing the learning experience with cognitive learning strategies that promote complete comprehension and knowledge retention rather than simply memorizing, this promotes better long-term memory retention of information. This strategy includes interactive activities, visual aids, multimedia presentations, and hands-on practice tasks. I also like to create lesson objectives and lesson plans to target areas for improvement and resources for studying and mastering key concepts. I value time management as an online learner so I like to use organizational tools to ensure proper time is allotted to covering each area of study.
As a learning coach to my own 11 year-old daughter via the North Carolina VirtualAcademy and a online student myself, I am familiar with the online learning platform and the needs of students learning in this modality.
