About Christian
I am a writer and teacher of creative and academic writing with a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing, and a Master of Fine Arts in fiction writing. I have published two books of short stories along with numerous pieces of short fiction, poetry, and journalism. I have recently served as the Idaho Writer in Residence with the Idaho Commission on the Arts, the state's highest literary honor. I have been teaching writing for over twenty years at the university, high school, and junior high level. As well, I have run community-based creative writing workshops - both online and in-person - for over fifteen years. As a writer myself I take the act of teaching writing very seriously and I value the act of putting the words down a great deal.

My teaching methods are very hands on, working with students to get to know what they really want out of their work on personal, academic, and artful levels. Students will get the opportunity to share their work regularly and get detailed written and verbal feedback on all their writing. My approach is to create a healthy, productive, and welcoming atmosphere surrounding the art, craft, and overall participation in the writing process, both creative, academic, and professionally.
