About Thomas
I have written a book and run training on Learning to Learn because my aim is to teach people to learn, not just pass an exam; this is so they will be able to apply the learning outside the lessons and in other areas of life.
I have taught groups in the UK, Ireland, Italy and online, as well as a wide variety of individuals, the vast majority of whom have stayed with me for months or in some cases years, and helped people pass exams, get degrees and grow in confidence. I love seeing people equipped and empowered to learn for themselves and reach their goals.
I ran Creative Writing groups for many years and have taught English as a Foreign Language to a wide variety of learners in Italy, the UK and online - I am fluent in French and Italian so therefore understand a lot of common mistakes when translating from these to English.

Every learner is unique and deserves a custom approach to tutoring. This is why I will spend the first few lessons really getting to understand learners' needs, learning styles, strengths and goals.
Lessons are then planned and carried out in a friendly but targeted way to ensure students get the most out of them, with appropriate practice exercises being provided to reinforce the learning between sessions.
I can source materials or work with existing curricula depending on the need.
