About Carisa
When I first started Latin, I was completely lost. Everyone seemed ahead of me, and I didn't know where to begin. Instead of giving up, I decided to teach myself the material from the ground up, breaking the language down until it finally clicked. Through that process, something changed: while a lot of students just check the box to get it over with, I actually fell in love with the language. Today, I'm the one keeping the passion for Latin alive in my classes, and I want to bring that same energy to you.
While Latin satisfies my logical side, writing is where my imagination comes to life. I’ve always loved persuasive and creative writing because they let you take chaotic ideas and turn them into a powerful, structured story.
With 9 years of firsthand classical education experience, I bring a fresh, relatable perspective to tutoring. I don’t just teach the answers, I teach the shortcuts and self-study frameworks that worked for me. Whether you are drowning in Henle translations or staring at a blank page, I am here to help you actually understand it and master it.

My Approach
I break down Latin and essay writing so they actually make sense. I don’t believe in dry, overwhelming memorization.
For Latin (Henle): We treat it like a puzzle. It’s not about getting every single ending right on day one; it’s about understanding the concepts, decoding the pieces (like translating Caesar), and seeing how the language connects.
For Persuasive Writing: We use a complete, step-by-step pipeline. I walk you through the whole outline process—from Invention (brainstorming your arguments) to the final structure.
A Typical Lesson
The Warm-Up (15 mins): Quick, active review of Henle charts or essay concepts.
The Core Work (30 mins): We dive into the puzzle. We actively translate together or build your essay outline from scratch.
The Toolkit (15 mins): A simple, stress-free game plan for your week.
