About Nick
Nick Deraiche - owner and teacher at Lakeshore West Drum Lessons - has been drumming for 33 years. Once graduating high school he studied Jazz Performance at Toronto’s Humber College and then drummed aboard cruise ships for the better part of a decade. He now develops personalized drumming systems for both beginner and intermediate drummers. He gets people new to drumming playing along to their favorite songs, and helps intermediate drummers get to the next level. He makes sure every lesson is a fun learning experience.

Two Paths, One Goal: PLAY
If you’ve chosen to finally give drumming a go, I’ll have you playing along to songs by the end of the introductory lesson, seriously. Then sign up for a lesson pack and I’ll design a program for you that’ll show you fundamental techniques and listening skills. Side by side, both of us on our own mic'd, acoustic drum set, we’ll work on getting you playing along to your favorite songs. You’ll see how fun it is!
If you’ve been playing a while and want to level up your playing I can show you advanced techniques, different styles, and focused practice routines to help you achieve your musical goals. If you want, I can also teach you how to read, interpret and make your own drum charts. The spacious studio has two mic'd, acoustic kits, come check it out!
