About Karl
Violinists seeking TACTICAL PRECISION often find themselves stuck in a loop of repetitive errors. I work with dedicated players who require a structured approach to bridge the gap between intermediate playing and advanced artistry.
With 144 students taught over 13 years, I have refined a method rooted in my BMus studies at the Curtis Institute of Music. We concentrate on tuning by ear, tone production, rhythm, and timing to solidify your base.
My instruction integrates vibrato, bowing technique, and orchestral playing into every session. We address spiccato and staccato bowing along with grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity to keep your trajectory focused. Mastering ear training will eventually bring your performance to the standard you envision.

Since teaching is about refinement, I find that even the smallest adjustment to your posture changes the entire sound. You will hear the difference immediately. I provide recorded playback of tricky passages for home practice. This ensures you have a benchmark for your sound between our sessions.
My 13 years of experience informs how I break down complex mechanics into digestible parts. You will always know exactly what to work on next.
