About Oliver
Perhaps you have noticed that holding the bow feels awkward, as if your hand is fighting the wood. Having taught violin for 13 years, I have navigated these technical hurdles countless times for my students.
I use my BMus from Guildhall to teach bowing technique, vibrato, double stops, and ear training. My approach is methodical, focusing on scales and arpeggios to build a firm foundation. I am happy to discuss your goals whenever you are ready.

Pacing remains the most critical element of our 7 minute progress check. A single wrong note reveals the exact alignment issue in your wrist. I share a monthly progress report with parents to ensure everyone feels included in the journey. We prioritise tuning by ear as a core habit, which builds deep listening skills.
My degree from Guildhall helps me explain complex shifts in plain language. It is actually quite fun to watch the music start to flow once the mechanics click into place.
