About Jean
Do you find that your fingerpicking sounds muddy or that you cannot switch between barre chords fast enough? A common struggle for many players is connecting basic scales to actual songs.
I fix this by using my university training to show you how these concepts fit together. My lessons are geared toward the specific goals of each student, whether you are a child or an advanced adult learner. I ensure that you leave every class with a clear understanding of the material. As a bonus, I provide free chord charts and tab sheets after each class to keep you moving forward.

I spent more time practicing barre chords in my youth than any other activity. My BA in music and BM in guitar from Concordia University provide the formal structure for my laid back teaching style. I work with everyone from kids to advanced grade exam candidates who need practical advice.
My 13 years of experience include working with 498 students on everything from fingerpicking to complex scales. I keep my lessons focused on the music that matters to you, whether that is Québécois folk or standard blues. I look forward to helping you find your own voice on the instrument.
