About Gavin
I’m a dedicated piano tutor with over 14 years of experience, specialising in teaching college students. My lessons focus on creativity, communication, and adapting to each student’s style and goals. I use fun and effective methods like playing by ear, improvisation, and exploring different genres to keep learning exciting. I also include music theory, technique, and expression to help students become confident, well-rounded musicians. My goal is to make piano both enjoyable and meaningful for every student.

My teaching approach for piano is centred on helping each student grow at their own pace while enjoying the process of learning music. I believe that good communication, creativity, and integrity build a strong foundation for success. I adapt my lessons to match each student’s goals, whether you're a beginner or aiming for advanced levels. My lessons focus on technique, sight-reading, ear training, expression, and music theory. I also include fun and creative activities to keep students engaged and motivated. Along with piano, I can teach related subjects like keyboard, synthesiser, harpsichord, music theory, and rhythm training to give a complete learning experience. I work hard to create a comfortable, honest, and inspiring space where students feel free to express themselves. My goal is not only to teach you how to play but to help you truly connect with the music.
