About Lilly
"Teaching is my way of proving that music is a logic puzzle waiting to be solved. I have mentored 435 students during my 10 years of practice.
My RCM Artist Diploma provides the rigorous foundation necessary to teach jazz improvisation alongside classical repertoire. We will analyse music theory, sight transposition, and memorisation techniques to build your confidence. I integrate pop and contemporary styles with traditional posture and hand position training to ensure you possess total facility. "Stepping into our first session, you will notice the piano keys waiting for an intentional touch that transforms a simple scale into an expressive melody. I record a short playback of each session so students can review at home, ensuring that the specific nuances of our work on accompaniment skills and complex rhythms remain clear long after you leave the bench. We treat every piece as a physical structure, analysing the mechanics of your hand position while exploring the theory that governs the sound.
Because I maintain a concept first approach, I ensure you understand the why behind every note, which makes the learning process significantly more efficient and enjoyable as you progress through your ABRSM or Trinity grade exam prep. I look forward to helping you navigate the keyboard with both technical precision and creative freedom."
