For over 20 years, I have been teaching tactical self-defence. In the 90s, I started practising Wing Tsun, and later added Kickboxing and Escrima. After more than a decade of intensive training, I earned my trainer certification in 2005, becoming one of the youngest instructors to teach at martial arts schools and community colleges. Through personal experiences, I discovered that in real-life threat situations, it’s the simple and efficient techniques that truly matter. This realisation led me to specialise in Krav Maga since 2009. Krav Maga is 100% practical. This was exactly what I had been looking for: realistic, uncompromising self-defence based on simple principles and instinctive movements which truly works in real situations. My martial arts training became the catalyst for a more nuanced, scientifically grounded exploration of self-defence. While studying at the University of Oxford, I began systematically exploring the topic of violence prevention alongside my studies. With my scientific approach to self-defence, I integrate cutting-edge research on stress responses and decision-making into my courses, helping my students to remain calm and act decisively in high-stress situations. With over two decades of experience and a deep passion for empowering others through effective self-defence, I am dedicated to helping my students feel safe, confident, and prepared in any situation.

About the lesson

These sessions are suitable for all ages and experience levels, so don’t worry if you have little or no prior experience. I will adapt each session to your individual skills and needs. If you have any pre-existing injuries, we will find a good workaround. My self-defence lessons are trauma-sensitive and tailored to your needs. Teaching Adults & Children for over 20 years. Specialised knowledge in supporting children with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD as well as a range of other special needs.
