I have a University diploma. I was a marker for the Matric and GCSE examinations. I facilitated public speaking to learners who represented South Africa in Netherlands in 2015.

In most cases I taught learners of mixed abilities. Reading takes priority. Most learners read with no compression, therefore do not understand stories or passages. I find group work more effective for slower or shy learners. Since English is their second language, I use videos and short films to keep them interested. Frequent short tests both oral and written help evaluate their progress and my methodology. I also encourage public speaking, in the form of drama or speech.
