About Alison
I have 20 years experience in teaching ESOL, the last 8 years in managing a team of 15-20 tutors and 20-30 classroom support assistants.
I have taught Beginner level learners to Upper Intermediate/Advanced level learners, both in the local community setting to help them integrate into the city, and also helping them gain qualifications in speaking/listening, reading and writing up to Level 2. Some have then gone on to complete General Certificates in Secondary Education in the UK, or Access to University courses.

I always begin with finding out what my students already know in all skills areas (i.e. speaking, reading, writing), and what their goals are, then plan a programme to start building on these aspirations.
There are many different approaches, but this will be determined by the learning style of the individual student.
Regular assessments/check points will enable us to see if we need to adapt the programme at any point.
