About Mariam
I've been an ESL teacher for the past 6 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in English Arts and I started working after obtaining my TEFL certificate in 2015 which was my first year in college so I was the youngest certified instructor in my hometown. Throughout this period, I started working on my professional development by taking more courses like how to teach IELTS and phonetics and phonology, attending workshops on different teaching aspects. I taught general, conversation, and IELTS preparation courses for adults and teens focusing on making my classes student-centered, communicative, and engaging by using the latest teaching methodologies. I don’t just rely on course books, but I always adapt or add extra material tailored for learners’ needs or interests. I taught face-to-face and online classes using Zoom Meetings as the main platform for teaching online learning how to use it efficiently.
I also designed placement tests following the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and sold them to different language centers. In 2019, I became a teacher trainer after taking Train the Trainer course and I was nominated to Cambridge Assessment English to become a CELT-S trainer and got accepted for the position to become the first trainer to lead the first CELT-S round in Egypt
