About Nella

I am a guitar tutor with 11 years of teaching experience, and I also perform and compose regularly. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Guitar Studies, which gave me a strong foundation in both technique and musical theory. Music has always been more than notes to me; I see it as a creative and lifelong skill that anyone can develop. I enjoy working with students of all levels, from beginners taking their first steps to advanced musicians refining their craft. My lessons are designed to be engaging, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus not only on technique but also on fostering self-expression and confidence through the guitar. Through exercises, improvisation, and repertoire building, I help students connect with the instrument and discover their unique musical voice. I emphasise musicality, creativity, and the joy of learning as much as technical mastery. Whether it’s classical, jazz, acoustic, or contemporary styles, I guide students to enjoy the journey of making music. I am committed to nurturing a lifelong love for the guitar, inspiring students to practice with purpose and curiosity. My goal is to help every student grow not just as a musician, but as a confident, expressive, and creative individual.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making guitar learning enjoyable, practical, and personalised. I guide students from basics to advanced techniques, ensuring they understand music theory and guitar mechanics clearly. I emphasise classical fingerpicking, hybrid picking, staff reading, and tonal control to help students master diverse styles. I focus on building strong foundational skills while encouraging creativity. Lessons include exercises for finger strength, timing, and dynamic expression. I also guide students on improvisation, songwriting, and adapting to different musical genres. I support students who are ambitious and want to excel, helping them develop performance confidence and technical precision. I provide tips and strategies that help them perform in recordings or live sessions successfully. My goal is to help students enjoy learning while progressing steadily. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace, strengths, and goals. I combine structured practice with fun, practical applications to keep learning engaging. By the end, students not only play guitar skilfully but also gain a deeper understanding and love for music.
