About Alex
"Hey there! I’ve been playing guitar for over 40 years. If you don't read sheet music, you are in the right place—because I don't either! I teach entirely by eye and ear, focusing on the visual shapes, rhythms, and real-world tricks that make music fun.
My lessons are designed for absolute beginners, intermediate, and even post-intermediate players who want to break out of a rut. Whether you are brand new to the instrument, know a few chords but feel stuck, or want to master advanced rhythm work, I will bridge that gap for you. We can also get into alternate tunings if you’re interested.
I am also an active recording artist with three studio albums streaming worldwide. You can search for my band, Revel Switch, on Spotify, Apple Music, or wherever you normally stream music.
I bring that same real-world, studio-tested experience to every lesson. You pick the music! Tell me what songs you love, and I will break them down into simple, easy-to-follow pieces just for you. At the end of every lesson, you can choose the next song you want to tackle. Together we will dive straight into the genres you love:
Classic & Modern Rock / Pop: Mastering iconic riffs, solos, and driving chord progressions.
Country & Bluegrass: Nailing that classic 'Boom-Chicka' rhythm, fast picking runs, and smooth transitions. No boring music theory exams here—just real songs, practical techniques, and 40 years of shortcuts passed down to you. Let's get playing!"
