About Cathrine
A BMus degree in performance is rarely the best indicator of how well someone can explain a blues progression. I actually spent 10 years learning that technical accuracy often requires unlearning bad habits first.
Having worked with 167 students, I prioritise electric technique, scales and modes, tuning and maintenance, grade exam prep, and songwriting. My experience has taught me that simple explanations produce the fastest results. I prefer to let my student discover their own path through the fretboard.

Music thrives on the tension between theory and instinct. 10 years of teaching revealed that students learn faster when the material feels relevant. We examine electric technique and scales during our time together. I offer a free trial session to assess starting level for every new player.
This ensures we begin at the exact point where you feel challenged but capable. My background as a performer helps me guide your songwriting progress. I enjoy hearing how your individual style develops over time.
