About Sharif

I am currently an official tutor at Vanier College (Canada). With so many years of computer software design and programming under my belt, I have never had a dissatisfied student. Teaching is an art. Some teachers are good at relaying information - some are not. I can say that I have been told numerous times that I am a very skilled teacher. This is something that every student should be concerned about. Many teachers have excellent command of the subject matter, but have trouble relaying the information to others. This will not be a concern for you with me. With over 20+ years of work in the industry in Canada I can, not only help you with your courses, but I can also provide you with sound advice on the current state of the industry and tips and tricks to help you land your first job in the field. This is something that most academics lack.

About the lesson

I have the ability to simplify complex ideas into simple, bite-size chunks for my students to understand. I am very patient and I work at the speed of my students. I start with a quick assessment of the student needs. After that, I move to explain the theory behind the concept that I am explaining. To end with, I always show practical examples using the required IDE and language to illustrate the theory illustrated. The practical part is usually 60% of the lesson and is done with the student's involvement. I provide my student exercises for the particular topic we are covering. These exercises are suitable for their skill level and help solidify their understanding of the subject matter. Computer Science \ programming is all about practice and my student gets enough of that.
