About Eldon
You should expect a deep focus on pop and contemporary styles paired with technical precision. I use my Master of Music in Vocal Studies and BM in Piano Performance to teach you how to phrase like a vocalist.
My training emphasizes DYNAMICS AND EXPRESSION alongside sight transposition, scales, and arpeggios. Understanding how to use memorization techniques allows you to internalize music more effectively. I often emphasize that singers who study piano learn to accompany themselves, and pianists who sing learn how to phrase musical lines. These two perspectives are a defining part of my teaching practice.

Pianists often assume that playing louder creates more expression, but the real secret lies in controlling the weight of each finger. My lessons feel like a creative conversation rather than a rigid lecture. We will work on your accompaniment skills while I create custom sheet music arrangements for the songs you choose. With 481 students taught, I have learned that even the most difficult pieces become manageable with the right breakdown.
I bring my technical background from the Peabody Institute to every 6.0 minute segment of our time. Get in touch if you'd like to explore your favorite songs together.
