About Olivia
Music connects people to their local history. Teaching helps me keep those traditions alive. I hold a Certificate in Traditional Music from the Old Town School of Folk Music. My instruction covers songwriting, fingerpicking, power chords, reading sheet music, scales and modes, music theory, and reading tabs.
Teens, kids, and adults find my method accessible. I emphasize rhythm and ear training over complex theory. You will learn to listen as much as you play. My history of playing festivals across the South shapes my guitar teaching.
It keeps things grounded. I hope to see you in the studio soon.

Your first session starts with a simple audit of where your hands feel most comfortable. We establish a clear path for your goals right away. A practice module with every lesson to keep momentum is the core of how I work with teens, kids, and adults. I bring 13 years of experience to these interactions to ensure you do not feel overwhelmed by theory or complex notation.
My certificate from the Old Town School of Folk Music gives me a deep well of songs to use as teaching tools. You will find that playing becomes a regular habit rather than a chore.
