About Li

Born in Shanghai, China, cellist Li Pang began her cello studies at the age of seven. After studying at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music Middle School, She came to New York to begin her studies at the Manhattan School of Music in 2013. Ms. Pang has served as a substitute for the Shanghai Philharmonic and has performed in venues including, Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall and Kaufman Music center. She has given performances in the US, Asia, and Europe as a soloist, chamber and orchestra musician. Ms. Pang has received training from Bonnie Hampton, Jonathan Manson, Hillel Zori, Martti Rousi, Morten Zeuthen, David Geber, Alan Stenpansky, Jonathan Spitz, Rebecca Gilliver, etc. She graduated from Manhattan School of Music with both Bachelor and Master degrees, where she studies with Julia Lichten. Ms.Pang earned her Professional Studies Certification at Manhattan School of Music as an Orchestral Performance cellist in 2020. She is now a doctoral candidate at Rutgers University. Ms. Pang holds a section cello position with the Grammy-winning Albany Symphony Orchestra since 2021.

About the lesson

In our session, we will focus on developing your technical skills, musicality, potential, personal goals, and overall understanding of the cello. I offer lessons to all levels and ages. I can also teach some basic sightreading, aural skills, and theory. I can't wait to meet many talented friends and play music together.
