About Kyra

I am a young college student. That is what sets me apart, but it’s also what incentivizes me to be better. I am a very big believer in giving people their money's worth. In this economy, money is not to be wasted. That is why when I instruct, I look at my students beyond the lesson. Upon the initial meeting, I normally spend the session asking questions about them and their interests. This is so I can create unique warmups based on their interests to ensure attentiveness from the beginning. I also like to get a feel of their vocal texture. After that, we will identify goals, and I will curate a calendar with a personal plan from there. I keep a personal Google Folder with every student to ensure organization. After that, communication and consistency are key. I will also have very simple methods of communication.

About the lesson

My name is Kyra! I have been a vocalist since I was a child, with 7 years of formal training. I have always had a passion for music, but I got tired of the one-size-fits-all approach to training vocalists. As your instructor, I want you to have a level of autonomy, while also maintaining structure. I want to work with and grow your strengths. With me quality is important, but enjoyment also a large objective. My main genres are choral arrangements, r&b, neo-soul, and jazz. My largest strong suits are neo-soul, and jazz. I am so excited to learn and grow with you!
