About Scott

I'm a former college writing instructor who has taught academic and technical writing, and I've spent the past nine years helping professionals communicate clearly in the energy, IT, and software industries, all of which I've worked in. Teaching has always been my favorite part of what I do. Whether you're learning English, preparing for school, creating PowerPoint presentations, or improving your communication at work, I'll help you develop practical skills you can use right away. I believe clear is kind, and my goal is to help you communicate clearly and confidently in any work or social situation.

About the lesson

Ideally, the student comes to me with a topic and a task in mind, such as a paper for a history class, a PowerPoint presentation for work or a professional conference, or a Zoom or Teams meeting for a job interview or work. My approach is to focus on the language the student needs to complete the task successfully, because I believe that small victories lead to bigger wins. I'm a passionate believer in the"show, don't tell" philosophy since showing people something is better than telling people something. And I teach students how to do that.
