About Stephen
Fluency is a direct result of consistent listening and speaking practice. 100 percent of my instruction begins with a diagnostic level test to establish a clear baseline.
We will focus on listening comprehension and writing skills while smoothing out the tricky parts of phrasal verbs. Since I draw on 13 years of experience, I know how to adapt my approach based on the immediate needs of the room. We explore conversational fluency as a primary goal for every student in the session. My background includes a BA English and a BM Guitar from Humber along with a CELTA certification. I collaborate with students, immigrants, and candidates for high stakes tests like IELTS and TOEFL.
Most of my work involves helping newcomers build the confidence they need to communicate effectively in diverse environments. My classroom feels more like a workshop where we learn through shared effort. I find that using musical rhythm can actually help learners internalize complex grammar structures.
Developing fluency requires time and regular practice with someone who keeps a steady, encouraging pace. This process helps people who are otherwise overwhelmed by the prospect of learning a new language.
