About Michael
Over two decades of experience playing and teaching music have given me the privilege of watching absolute beginners transform: students who started convinced "piano isn't for me" now sit down and play with joy and skill. My background as a complete musician—singing, training choirs, and directing bands—enriches how I introduce piano to newcomers. Holding a Yousician Grade 6 certification as a pianist ensures I bring proven, high-level techniques simplified perfectly for beginners.

Using creative gamification and engaging tools, I ensure your first steps on the piano are exciting, motivating, and never dull. I teach holistically from the start: helping you develop both strong chord voicings, rhythm, and left-hand accompaniment skills alongside right-hand melodies, simple improvisation, and musical expression—so you're not limited to just chords without melody or melody without harmony. Patience is my biggest strength—I adapt completely to your speed, offering calm, clear guidance until you've achieved the milestones you've set for yourself. I focus exclusively on teaching beginners, making this the perfect starting point for anyone new to the piano.
