About Crystal
Crystal, a native of Gary, IN , has over 35 years in the arts and entertainment industry. Ranging from behind the the scenes to out front. Not only self taught, she's been trained by some of the best and brightest choreographers and dancers from Broadway and the big and small screen!
No stranger to the Chicago stage, Crystal has starred in the "Broadway in Bronzeville's" award winning adaptation of Ain't Misbehavn', Annie, Claudine the Musical, Cooley High The Class Reunion and other productions to sold out crowds!
Coach Crystal as she's affectionately called by her students, has a background in Liturgical Dance & Gospel Mime ,
Hip-Hop, Modern, African,HBCU Majorette,Traditional Baton Twirling Majorette, Pom-Pom, Musical Theater Dance, Jazz and Popular Dances from past decades to the present.
The teaching bug bit Crystal early in her dance career. She credits her Elementary's Summer Recreation dance and baton coach, Debra. Debra could dance, act , twirl,draw and loved her students!Debra passed the baton literally to Crystal! As well as the love the kids.
In addition to coaching, choreographing and performing, Crystal has traveled the country and abroad as former technical hair consultant/platform artist for Soft Sheen - Carson/Loreal's Mizani styling team and as a personal celebrity hairstylist. She's also a freelance makeup artist and fashion designer.
Crystal brings every one of her God given gifts, everything she's learned to her unique method of teaching dance. She sees the whole picture.
The ability to spot and hone even the beginner dancer's strengths is her strong suit.
