About Sophie
I am currently at Macquarie University studying clinical science. I have a strong passion for science, particularly human biology and health, and I hope to pursue a career in medicine to become a doctor. This goal drives my enthusiasm for learning and helping others understand scientific concepts in a clear and engaging way. Tutoring allows me to share that passion with students, support their academic growth, and hopefully inspire a love of learning in them as well.

My tutoring approach is student-centered and tailored to individual needs. I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation and helping students apply their knowledge effectively through regular HSC-style practice questions. I guide them in breaking down the wording of questions, structuring their responses, and understanding exactly what markers are looking for by referring to past marking guidelines and sample answers. This not only boosts their content knowledge but also improves their exam technique and confidence. My lessons are mainly focused for year 11 and year 12 Biology and PDHPE students, and I can also provide lessons for general science from year 7-10.

Deadly! Sophie is amazing. Considering we found her in the run up to HSC to help with disappointing trial results, she’s making such a difference. She is super friendly, clear, organised and very confident in her biology expertise. I can’t thank her enough for how she’s supporting my daughter prepare for the final exam.
