About James
I'm James, a second-year Geography Student in York. I have a passion for sustainability and the enviroment and specilise in physical and enviromental Geography.
When teaching I challenge my students to encourage critical thinking and try to allow them to work out answers themselfs. I stay away from spoon feeding information. However I am always wanting to do what will help my student get the most from their lessons.
My students develop into well rounded Geographers with an ability to criticially analyse information and ask the important questions.

In a typical lesson, I will check in with my p and discuss if there is anything in particular they would like to cover. Otherwise, I will mirror what they have been learning in lessons to make sure they have a comprehensive understanding of the subject or revise topics previously covered.
When teaching, I encourage critical thinking by challenging the pupil's understanding of a subject. I also demonstrate my methods of thinking when answering exam questions and encourage the pupil to follow a similar thought f to my whole framework while also helping them to develop a framework that suits them.
While my experience as a tutor is limited, I have a wealth of experience working with young people, and I believe I have a set of skills that would be an asset to any pupil.
I teach Geography for GCSE and A-Level.
