About Rayan
I am an experienced and engaging tutor, having done so for the past 3 years in various GCSE and A-Level subjects, with 100% of my students achieving or exceeding their target grades. Having recently entered medical school and successfully passed my first year, I am very familiar with the admissions process, and achieved a high UCAT score and performed well during interviews which allowed me to receive offers from all of the 4 medical schools I applied to. I therefore am well versed to help share my knowledge on how I achieved all of my offers to any prospective medicine students.

Lessons will be tailored directly to the student's needs based on where they are with their application.
For UCAT students, the first few sessions will be going through the types of possible questions that could be encountered, building familiarity with questions from each section and learning the basic processes to approach each of them. Quickly we would move onto timed question practice, as one of the key features and common challenges of the UCAT are its time constraints, and I believe getting early exposure to these constraints is key to scoring well. From here the lessons will be mainly focused on analysing mocks and practice questions done by students, identifying patterns of error and weaker sections and then focusing revision in these areas.
With interview tutoring, I would initially work with the student to discuss the medical schools they wished to apply for, as this directs the rest of the interview preparations. I would then guide the student with researching key details about their desired universities and preparing them with the information required for their interviews. From here, sessions would be spent going through different types of interview questions, and fine-tuning the students' answers, allowing my students to be as prepared as possible for their interviews whilst maintaining naturalness, which is key in interviews as interviewers do not want rehearsed answers. Exposing students to a wide range of questions, and potential tasks, that could be asked of at interview is crucial in building adaptability among students, so that during their interviews they can tackle unfamiliar scenarios with confidence.
Recommendations

Rayan tutored my younger sister in GCSE Maths and Science, and also helped a family friend prepare for the UCAT. I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough. Right from the start, he took the time to understand where each student was getting stuck and adapted his teaching to suit the way they learned best. He was always patient, easy to talk to and really encouraging, which made a huge difference to their confidence.
What I appreciated most about his teaching was that he made sure they actually understood the concepts before moving on, and then backed that up with exam-style questions and focused practice. For UCAT preparation, he also shared really helpful strategies and techniques that made a big difference to both confidence and speed.
One moment that really stood out was in the run-up to my sister’s mocks, when she was feeling quite overwhelmed about Chemistry. Rayan spent extra time going over the topics she found hardest and explained everything in a way that finally clicked for her. After that lesson, she felt so much more confident and went into the exam knowing exactly how to tackle the questions and she ended up doing really well.
Rayan genuinely cares about helping his students do well and that shows in every lesson. The progress my sister made was obvious, and our family friend also felt much better prepared for the UCAT. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rayan to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated and supportive tutor.View more recommendations
