About Dexter
Hi, I'm Dexter, an International Relations student at the University of Southampton with an A-level in Geography. I have a strong interest in geography, particularly topics such as development, migration, globalisation, and geopolitics.
Beyond my studies, I have travelled extensively throughout Latin America, giving me first-hand experience of many of the geographical concepts covered at GCSE. I enjoy bringing these real-world examples into lessons to help make topics more engaging and relevant.
I also have experience working with young people through volunteer teaching in Costa Rica, where I helped teach English to local children. This experience strengthened my communication skills and taught me the importance of adapting explanations to different learning styles.
I am reliable, approachable, and committed to helping students build confidence in Geography while achieving their academic goals.

I've always found that I learn best when I'm relaxed, so I aim to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I make lessons engaging and tailor them to each student's needs and learning style. My focus is on developing a strong understanding of Geography before improving exam technique through practice questions, feedback, and effective revision strategies.
I am currently studying International Relations at the University of Southampton and achieved an A-level in Geography. My degree has developed my understanding of topics such as development, migration, globalisation, and geopolitics, while my travels across Latin America allow me to bring real-world geographical examples into lessons. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are suitable for KS3 and GCSE students.
