About Alex

A little about me:

I am in my 3rd year at McGill University studying Mathematics with a double minor in Computer Science and German Language. I have been passionate about math since middle school when I started attending a tutoring program called Spirit of Math.

I also have quite a bit of experience teaching. I am a Level 2 CSIA Ski Pro and I've got 4 seasons of instructing experience under my belt. My groups have ranged in ages from 3 - 15 and I've brought people from never having skied before to confidently cruising down Blue Square hills in a weekend.

That's pretty much all that is relevant to my position as a tutor but I stay busy outside of classes playing in Intramural Chess and competing on the Varsity Track Team.

Most important for me is that you are interested in what we're learning about so, for each lesson there are two goals.

1. (my goal) for you to have fun and be genuinely interested in what we're learning

2. (your goal) to understand the topic with more depth than you did at the start of the lesson.

Alex is a good friend and great teacher. He always takes the time out of his day to help me with any questions I have, even for courses he isn’t in. He does a great job at explaining solutions in detail and gives great backup information to support his answers. He really tries to get me to understand the material rather than just reproducing a solution. 11/10
