About Fin

I successfully gained entry into graduate medicine on my first attempt, at my number one preference. I performed fine in GAMSAT, but I feel as if it is was in the interview where I really succeeded and distinguished myself.

Since then I have developed even more of a passion for medicine. I founded a medical education podcast with a colleague of mine and after this was employed as an anatomy demonstrator at my university. I have also tutored students informally as part of my university's mentoring scheme.

About the lesson

When teaching medicine concepts I believe the key is in understanding topics thoroughly rather than attempting to rote learn concepts. It is important to understand ideas holistically and this can be facilitated by in depth discussions with students. Once this is complete it is important to have some strategy in place to actively recall the information which has been memorised.

For interview preparation, the key is in doing as many questions as possible and then analysing these responses for potential improvement.
