About Becca

Outside of performing and teaching, I am a death doula, somatic practitioner, and I created a non-profit that brings joy to children in hospitals (Prescription Joy). I left the classroom because I did not feel learning should happen inside thick cement walls all day. Though I do not miss the schedule or the institution of education, I miss working with students and creating learning opportunities with them and for them. Other interests: -Circus training -Escape rooms -Dungeons and Dragons -Learning Spanish -Learning so many things! Bio: Becca has been an educator for over a decade. She is an active theatrical performer, and has a variety of training in physical theater, some of which include: clown, stage combat, and circus. She holds a Master's in Education from The University of New Orleans (certified in grades 1st-5th) and a Bachelor's of Performing Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi. Becca has trained with Jeff Raz in San Francisco, Pig Iron Theatre Company in Philadelphia, Ronlin Foreman of Dell'Arte International in Blue Lake, California, and Giovanni Fusetti in Boulder, Colorado. In the summer of 2018, she studied Commedia in Reggio Emilia, Italy under Antonio Fava. She has also trained in static trapeze, aerial sling, and partner acro locally at Fly Circus Space and in Brattleboro, Vermont at New England Center for Circus Arts. She is also a Dueling Arts International certified theatrical combatant in broadsword, rapier dagger, unarmed combat, and quarterstaff. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Becca also co-created an online escape room called Cyber Escape Live.

About the lesson

My entire approach is student centered. We start with their curiosity and go from there. The goal is to make stage a place where children can be their full selves.

-Comedic stage combat
-Scene writing and performance
-Monologue writing and performance
-Auditions for Theatre (non-musical)
