About Meg

Hi, I’m Megan! I’m an 8th grade Algebra 1 teacher, a recent college graduate, and currently working on my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction.

I’ve worked with students across a variety of subjects, including math, Spanish, English, History, Social studies, and Art, and with age groups ranging from elementary to middle school. This experience has helped me become a flexible and patient teacher who knows how to meet students where they are.

In my current role teaching Algebra 1, I’ve supported many students in building both their skills and their confidence. I’ve seen students go from saying “I can’t do this” to “I can try,” and that shift makes a real difference. I focus on creating a supportive and structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My approach is clear, encouraging, and consistent. I break concepts down into simple steps, make sure students truly understand what they’re doing, and support them as they build confidence over time. I take my role seriously and am committed to showing up prepared, professional, and focused on each student’s growth.

My goal is to help students not only improve in math, but also feel more confident in themselves as learners.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Megan! I’m an 8th grade Algebra 1 teacher, and I focus on helping students feel confident and actually understand math.

My approach:
I keep things simple and clear. I break problems down step by step and explain things in a way that makes sense. I also adjust to each student’s learning style and pace. Most importantly, I help students build confidence, because that’s often the biggest barrier.

Typical Agenda:
We start with what the student is learning or struggling with. I explain it simply, then we work through examples together. After that, the student practices while I guide and support them. I always make sure they feel comfortable asking questions.

Why work with me?
I don’t just focus on getting the right answer—I focus on helping students understand and feel more confident. I create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students can learn without feeling stressed.

I work with middle school students, especially 8th graders in Algebra 1. Whether a student is struggling, wants better grades, or just needs a confidence boost, I’m here to help.

My goal is to help students go from “I don’t get it” to “I can do this.”
