About Omar

I am an Economics graduate from The American University in Cairo (AUC), with a professional background in financial analysis and project accounting. Before university, I attended The International School of Choueifat in Cairo, part of the SABIS educational network.

I spent five years working as a Financial Analyst and have been working in project accounting in Abu Dhabi since August 2023. My professional experience has given me a practical understanding of how economic principles, financial decisions, and business operations interact beyond the classroom.

My interest in teaching developed alongside my professional career. I previously tutored students from Grade 3 through high school with Orcas in Egypt and later worked with university and Master's students in the UAE through TeacherOn.

What has always drawn me to education is the opportunity to understand how different people think. I find it particularly rewarding to work with students who initially struggle with a subject, identify what is preventing them from progressing, and help them discover that they are capable of more than they believed.

I value intellectual curiosity, patience, and the ability to question ideas rather than accept them without understanding. These are principles I apply in my own professional life and aim to encourage in the students I work with.

For me, teaching is an opportunity to share knowledge, challenge perspectives, and contribute to someone's intellectual and personal growth. Seeing a student develop confidence in their own reasoning remains the most rewarding part of that experience.

About the lesson

I believe that understanding a subject goes beyond memorizing theories or applying formulas. A student should be able to explain why something works, challenge an assumption, and recognize how a concept applies outside the classroom.

My lessons in Economics, Macroeconomics, Finance, and Management Accounting are built around this principle. I combine academic theory with practical examples drawn from my professional experience in financial analysis and project accounting, helping students connect what they study to real business and economic situations.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The American University in Cairo and have tutoring experience ranging from school students to university and Master's degree students.

I don't follow a fixed teaching formula. I begin by understanding how each student approaches a subject, identifying gaps in their knowledge and adjusting the lesson accordingly. Some students benefit from visual explanations and real-world examples, while others learn more effectively through discussion, problem-solving, and independent exploration.

I also encourage students to explain concepts back to me, defend their reasoning, and occasionally take the role of the teacher. This allows me to assess their understanding beyond whether they can produce the correct answer.

Lessons are generally structured around the student's academic objectives, whether that means preparing for examinations, working through university coursework, strengthening fundamentals, or developing a deeper understanding of a subject.

My aim is not simply to help students pass an exam, but to develop the analytical confidence and independence that will serve them throughout their education and professional lives.
