About Aurora

I am an arts student completing my degree at Texas State University. I have been crocheting and sewing for a little over a decade, and picked up embroidery perhaps five years ago. I have a passion for every aspect of the fiber arts process, and a strong background in drawing and painting going back to elementary school. I have formal training in figure drawing, pen and ink techniques, colored pencil techniques, and watercolor. My primary area of interest as an artist is in wildlife. I am a huge biology nerd, and so depicting flora and fauna is a specialty.

About the lesson

I am an instructor who will happily meet you where you are at in your artistic journey. I am just as prepared to teach you to crochet if you have never touched a crochet hook before as if you are looking to brush off prior skills. My emphasis is on visual-learning, particularly as regards fiber arts. I think a great deal of the learning process for a skill like crochet, embroidery or sewing involves having a very clear and slow-paced visual of the process, and I am prepared to provide that!
