About Joshua

My name is Joshua Sharp and I am a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Adelaide. I have a strong passion for tutoring and watching students succeed in their studies. I mostly enjoy tutoring subjects such as Mathematics and Physics to all age groups, with two years of experience in tutoring students in Primary school, High school and University. I am extremely passionate about helping others and wish to guide my students reach their desired goals. I believe I have a very in-depth and patient approach to tutoring which allows students to sufficiently grasp the content at the speed that most suits them. Furthermore, I not only focus the lesson primarily on tutoring but attempt to develop a strong personal connection with my students to ensure their learning experience is comfortable and enjoyable.

I have 2 years of tutoring experience. In 2021 I tutored 2 students in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. I helped both students achieve A+’s in all their assignments through my thorough drafting techniques. I also assisted in their achievements of an A+ average in all tests for their subjects, a result of my thorough explanations and deep understanding of the concepts that I provide to my students. I will be able to assist students in understanding all content at the deepest level.
My approaches to tutoring involve explaining the concepts in-depth and then providing questions for students to apply this knowledge. This reinforces the concepts I teach and enables students to adequately grasp a deep understanding of the content.
My tutoring lessons can range from 1-3 hours at a time, depending on the mode of delivery (face to face or online).
I tutor Maths for all primary and secondary education levels. (Reception to Year 12) and can tutor Physics for all high school students.
Qualifications:
I graduated in 2020 achieving a 99.80 raw atar and 99.95 adjusted atar. I received a merit in Physics (19.8/20), a merit in integrated learning (9.8/10). I also achieved high A+’s for Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods (19.6/20) and (19.5/20), respectively. Finally I achieved an A in chemistry (18.8/20). My GPA for first year University is 6.6. My strongest subjects are Mathematics and Physics, having achieved HD’s in all Mathematics and Physics subjects for first year university.
