About Elise
Hi! I’m a medical student currently pursuing my MD at the University of Balamand, with a strong academic background in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut, where I graduated with distinction.
I’ve always been passionate about teaching and simplifying difficult concepts. During the past few years, I’ve worked as a private tutor for both school and university students, helping them truly understand their material instead of just memorizing it. I’ve taught middle school students across all subjects, and also mentored university students in challenging courses like general chemistry (CHEM 201), which is a key pre-med requirement.
What makes my teaching different is my approach: I explain things in simple, clear steps, and I adapt to each student’s level. I focus on building strong foundations, because once you really understand the basics, everything else becomes much easier.
Beyond tutoring, I’m actively involved in medical research, working on projects related to cancer and cardiovascular diseases. This helps me stay deeply connected to what I teach, especially in biology and chemistry, and allows me to explain not just the “what,” but also the “why” behind concepts.
