About Alie
I am a Bachelor of Education degree graduate dedicated to the world of teaching mathematics, agriculture, and science. Through my undergraduate degree studies, I learned in detail how the biased content and archaic methods of teaching have held back the study of these subjects. I started this teaching job just after writing my West Africa Senior Schools Certificate Examination, and this syllabus for these exams is elaborate in such a way that it is very difficult to get a university requirement. But with my commitment and dedication to my academic work, I sat for these exams just once and got my university requirement. Due to this outstanding performance on this public examination, I attracted so many heads of schools to teach in their various secondary schools. Then I decided to teach from 2014, where I raised some funds to finance my university studies. Upon my studies at the university, I was also doing part-time teaching in various schools. Moreover, I emphasize the importance of resilience, adaptability, and self-advocacy. By teaching students to navigate challenges and setbacks, I empower them to become independent learners and confident individuals. Ultimately, my goal is to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world. By empowering students for success, I aim to make a lasting impact on their educational journey and beyond. I have faced numerous challenges in the classroom. One of the most significant hurdles was engaging students with diverse learning styles and abilities. Some students struggled to grasp complex concepts, while others were bored by the pace of instruction. To overcome this challenge, I began using differentiated instruction techniques. I created tiered assignments that catered to varying skill levels and incorporated multimedia resources to reach visual and auditory learners. I also established small group work sessions, allowing students to collaborate and learn from one another. Another challenge I encountered was managing behavioral issues. Some students struggled with impulse control, while others disrupted the class with side conversations. To address this, I implemented positive reinforcement strategies, such as verbal praise and reward systems. I also worked closely with colleagues to develop consistent behavior management plans. Through these strategies, I saw significant improvements in student engagement and behavior. Students began to take ownership of their learning, and class discussions became more lively and productive. Positive feedback from students and parents reinforced the effectiveness of my approaches. The guest lectures I always organized, I found it exciting to be able to discuss topics with people from different schools of thought and research backgrounds. I hope to make use of this knowledge in my teaching career to help present varied methods of teaching rather than only textbook work. My background in debating and experience with research seminars has further helped me to develop presentation skills and the ability to engage an audience. One of my favorite aspects of my teaching experience is giving more lecture-style lessons to my pupils and seeing that they had clearly listened to the class and had questions for me afterward. I find it rewarding to see when I have genuinely helped a student to understand a new topic. Above all, teaching is a dynamic profession, requiring adaptability and creativity. By embracing challenges as opportunities for growth, I have developed effective strategies to support my students' success. Despite the challenges, teaching remains a rewarding profession, and I'm committed to empowering students to reach their full potential. I would like to undertake this role to encourage children of all backgrounds to learn a diverse curriculum incorporating new methods. Alie Thullah

I believe that empowering students for success goes beyond academic
achievement. It involves fostering a growth mindset, building confidence, and developing essential life
skills. To achieve this, I strive to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages
students to take ownership of their learning.
I have moved my teacher techniques from the old system which was teacher centered teaching techniques to child centered teaching techniques. My classes are always interactive.
