About Mark

I am a 42 year old male with 15 years teaching experience in various avenues of education. Mostly experienced in post - primary mathematics from 1st year to leaving certificate, but have also taught primary, college and youth reach centers around Ireland. I have also taught in a foreign country for 7 years but now teach adult education in Ireland.

I have a bachelors degree in science and a higher diploma in further education of mathematics. I am qualified to teach both Mathematics and Physics although most of my career has been math focused.

I am patient, diligent and care a lot about my students. Math is a difficult subject for most people and I make it fun.

About the lesson

The lesson begins with three examples of the concept and objective of the lesson. This will be to ascertain together your ability at the beginning of the class. At the end of the class the same questions will be given to the student where both student and teacher will observe progress and improvement in real time.

Between the starter and end of class will be a 10 - 15 minute explanation of the concept followed by a 10 - 15 minute practice of the concept by the student.

So 5 minute starter consisting of realizing objective, 20 - 30 minute body of focused learning, and 5 minute ending to review and visualize student progress and improvement. Tailoring of the 40 - 50 minute lesson can depend on student level and ability.
