About Jadene

I bring a decade of experience in theater, film, and television, to help actors tap into their potential with confidence and clarity. I hold a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch and have trained with some of the most respected names in the industry. But most importantly I genuinely love the work, and helping artists connect to their craft.

In our sessions, you’ll get conservatory training uniquely adapted to your style and level of experience.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Jadene Meyer.

I coach actors who are ready to break past resistance in their craft, pursue their dreams and build their careers brick by brick.

Over the years, I have been fortunate to work with a vast range of clients from children with stage fright to seasoned Film & TV name talent. If you’re ready to gently transform the way you’ve been approaching your path, I'm happy to guide you.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Every lesson is fresh and calibrated to exactly where you’re at.

I. Warm-Up
We always start with grounding. Getting centered in our power, and feeling fully energized no matter what our baseline is.

- Physical Activation: Together we’ll do deep work exercises to increase our conscious physical awareness, mobility and strength. Get into character with micro movements and specificity of action.

- Vocal Warm-Ups: Breathwork and deepening exercises to build vocal strength, clarity, and discover your limitless voice.

II. Improv and cultivating presence.
- Improv Games: Meisner technique is my favorite. Playful, instinctive exercises to enhance real-time responsiveness and set you straight in the present moment.
- Character Building - My goal is to help you find your "in," with your characters, and discover exactly who you'd like to play. Your "in" can be found in the specific way your character walks, a philosophy they've never lived without, a set piece that uniquely shares their perspective. It's all about honing our instincts to tap into how people work and feel.

III. Scene and Monologue Work

We'll collaborate on scenes from auditions, historical texts, reel-building materials, and more to master your approach. We'll analyze text and do all the nitty-gritty work that leads to a seemingly effortless performance. Over time, this work will become second nature.

IV. Close out: Empowering your mindset and embracing your wins
- We'll celebrate what's working with actionable insights that will bring you to a state of pure confidence in your work.
