About Mya
I am passionate about piano and have been playing for 10+ years. I am working towards my Grade 8 exam and eventually my teaching diploma. For this reason I can currently only teach beginners. I believe it is important to strike a balance between classical piano pieces and piano pieces that might seem more “fun” for people to learn. The key to sticking with an instrument is playing songs you love. I would hope that your child would be able to play some of their favourite tunes on the piano by the time we have finished our lessons.

Using my own beginner piano books, I will begin by teaching your child the basics of piano. This includes the types of notes there are and types of rhythm. I can assist with starting grades too if necessary. Learning how to play scales will be an important first step in your child’s progression in piano playing.
