About Michael
I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a BA in music production and engineering. This course of study developed my understanding of music theory to a high level, especially in terms of jazz and popular music theory. Additionally, I received and completed a Fulbright research grant which comprised a study of melody, harmony, and improvisation in Hungarian folk and contemporary jazz music. I have both a wide range of interests and tools to work with any student.

As an instructor my lesson plan aims to teach harmony with the same methodology as my alma mater, Berklee College of Music, and thus my music theory instruction will focus primarily on jazz and popular music. The specific methods and paths to communicating the harmonic world of modern music will vary depending on the interests of each student. After a student has acquired a fundamental understanding of music theory we can even further delve into the interests and goals of each student and work on learning what makes their favorite songs or pieces of music tick.
