About Amy
I am a PhD student working at CRUK investigating the role of mtDNA mutations in cancer. I completed my undergraduate degree in biochemistry from The University of Exeter and did my Master's degree at The University of Edinburgh in Biomedical sciences. I am interesting in tutoring as a means of getting more people, from diverse backgrounds into science.

My lessons start with having the student explain what they understand of the topic to understand what they need help with. They then move on to an interactive, classroom style approach where I will discuss the topic and provide practice questions to gauge understanding. I will typically provide a couple of additional questions at the end of the session for the student to complete independently. I will go through these questions with them at the start of the next session.
