About James
I’m a dedicated and approachable tutor with a strong academic background in Chemistry and Life Sciences. I hold an MSci in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King’s College London and am currently completing a PhD in Life Sciences at Imperial College London. My teaching is guided by patience, clarity, and structure. I focus on building confidence by explaining concepts from the ground up and showing how they connect across topics. Students appreciate my ability to simplify difficult ideas, identify gaps in understanding, and create a comfortable environment where questions are always encouraged. I’ve worked with students preparing for GCSE, A-Level, and university exams in Chemistry, and for GCSE and A-Level in Physics and Maths. My goal is always the same: to help each student feel capable, motivated, and genuinely interested in their subject.

I teach GCSE, A-Level, and university-level Chemistry, as well as Physics and Maths at GCSE and A-Level. My lessons focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorising facts, using clear explanations, visual reasoning, and real-world examples to build confidence and problem-solving ability. Sessions are typically one hour long and structured around each student’s goals, whether that’s improving exam performance, mastering challenging topics, or developing stronger analytical skills. With an MSci in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King’s College London and current PhD research in Life Sciences at Imperial College London, I bring both academic depth and enthusiasm to every lesson. My approach is friendly, patient, and tailored to the individual, ensuring steady progress and genuine understanding.
