I have a PhD in Nutrition and work in the public policy sector here in DC. I have over 3 years of experience tutoring students in-home and in after-school programs. I have also tutoring students in English, reading, math, and social sciences.

My teaching method is to assist students with assignments and projects in correlation with classroom lessons. To ensure that students have a complete and in-depth knowledge of topics, I will provide additional information and discussion as necessary. This will often happen over the course of several lessons and I conduct checkpoints over time to confirm retention. I like discussion-based lessons where students must explain to me their understanding of topics and not just the correct answers. I try to do this in an informal and educational setting that is fun for the student!

Details
I will tutor students of any age. However, there will be a small additional charge for college level students ($23/hour) due the extra work associated with university courses.
