About Ryan
My name is Ryan, I completed my Master's degree in Biology at UNC Chapel Hill in August of 2024. While completing my degree I taught as a graduate teaching assistant for four semesters. I taught genetics, as well as cell and developmental biology. My master's research focused on infrared imaging of C. elegans, as well as genetic work in both C. elegans and yeast. I am also a paramedic certified in North Carolina, where I work full time in emergency medical services.

I typically teach with a brief lecture, followed by a question and problem-solving session. For example, if we were learning about PCR, I would begin with a brief presentation on the mechanics of how PCR works, and then provide a few examples for us to solve together, and then several practice opportunities for you to ask questions and learn what you may not have picked up initially.
