I make the lessons as personalized as possible by assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses, the way they like to learn and set goals with them. I like to use active learning which is basically using a mix of explanations, discussions, and activities. I also give continuous feedback and try different techniques to make sure the student understands the material.
A typical lesson plan is usually a review of previous material followed by an objective setting. Then I explain some concepts and help the student in a guided practice followed by an independent practice. I also try to incorporate some interactive activities in between. Then we will review the information and recap the key points followed by a preview of the next session.
What sets me apart is my adaptability and my holistic approach. I also have very up to date knowledge as I am also constantly learning more about the topics I teach because of my major and career plans.
