I worked alongside Henry at Chugai Pharma Europe from around 2012 to 2017. For the latter part of that period, Henry reported into me as a clinical scientist. Briefly, it was a real joy to work alongside Henry and also to be his manager. Henry was new to clinical research when he joined Chugai, but due to his excellent scientific training, and eagerness to learn, he was able to pick up the discipline very quickly and able to become an area expert. As a result, Henry was recruited to work at HQ in Tokyo where his skills were effectively employed by the local team. Henry is, rather enviably, a polyglot, and was able to pick up verbal and written Japanese at an amazing speed during his time there. Upon his return to the UK, Henry reported into me in Clinical Sciences, where is was able to effectively support a variety of scientific activities across multiple of disease areas.
