About Keira
My fascination with biology began with a desire to understand living systems and their interactions with the environment, which led me to pursue a B.Sc in Molecular Biology. Over 9 years, I have guided students from introductory to advanced levels, helping them develop both conceptual understanding and practical skills in biology. My teaching focuses on clarity, patience, and interactive learning, ensuring students grasp complex processes while building confidence.
I integrate real-life examples, hands-on activities, and structured exercises to make biological concepts tangible and engaging. Lessons emphasise reasoning, exploration, and critical thinking, allowing learners to connect theory with observation and practice. I aim to cultivate curiosity, analytical ability, and a strong foundation in biology.
Beyond teaching, I stay updated with scientific research, laboratory techniques, and new discoveries in biology. Bringing this knowledge into lessons helps students understand contemporary applications and the relevance of biological concepts. Witnessing learners grow in understanding, skill, and curiosity is the most fulfilling aspect of my work, motivating me to continue inspiring a love for biology.

Biology lessons with me are designed to make the study of life engaging, relatable, and intellectually stimulating. I cover genetics, molecular biology, physiology, ecology, and cell biology, focusing on conceptual clarity, practical examples, and observable phenomena. Lessons integrate visual aids, interactive experiments, case studies, and guided discussion to help students internalise complex concepts. I encourage questions, exploration, and analytical thinking, creating a supportive environment where learners feel confident to engage deeply with biological ideas. Each lesson gradually increases in complexity, ensuring foundational understanding is solid before tackling advanced topics.
Beginners focus on fundamental cellular processes, organismal structure, and basic genetics, supported by hands-on exercises and examples. Intermediate students explore molecular mechanisms, gene regulation, ecological interactions, and experimental design. Advanced learners tackle complex systems biology, bioinformatics, and research-based problem-solving, developing independence and analytical rigour. Lessons emphasise reasoning, experimentation, and the application of concepts to real-world contexts.
Biology education also cultivates critical thinking, observation skills, and analytical reasoning. Students learn to formulate hypotheses, analyse data, and communicate findings effectively.
